EVELYN L. (SMITH) SCHETTER

Evelyn L. Schetter, 87, of St. Francis Avenue, Tiffin, died 8;45 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011 at St. Francis Home.   She was born April 1, 1924 in Tiffin to the late Carl Michael and Margaret Pauline (Hohman) Smith.  She married Nicholas R. Schetter, November 4, 1950 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin.  He passed away February 12, 1998.

Survivors include three foster children, nine foster grandchildren, a brother, Thomas Eugene Smith of San Jose, Calif.; four sisters,  Kathleen Scherger of Tiffin, Margaret Ann (Robert) Kin of Kirby, Marilyn Rose (Carl) Podach of Fostoria and Doris Jean (James) Wise of Tiffin.

Preceding her in death is a brother, Carl Michael Smith, Jr.

Evelyn was a retired caretaker at Visitation Monastery, Toledo and also an operator at Ohio Bell Phone Company.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and volunteered at St. Joseph Cafeteria and the Rectory.

Visitation with the family will be 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.  Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. Francis Home Chapel with the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Frank Murd officiating.  Burial will be immediately following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
