Evelyn Bain Gerstenberger, 93, of Findlay and formerly of Tiffin, died at 1:16 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore.
She was born August 29, 1927, to Rollen and Beatrice (Fox) Youngpeter in Berwick, Ohio. She married Gerald Bain, November 24, 1949, in Carey and he died December 21, 2009. She married Carl Gerstenberger, October 25, 1997, in Tiffin and he died November 15, 1999.
Survivors include two sons, David (Bonnie) Bain of Fremont, Ritchie (Susie) Bain of Michigan Center, Michigan; two daughters, Jennifer Bain and Lisa (Martin) Richmond both of Findlay; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law Laura Bain of Marengo, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a son, Ronald Bain; a sister, Thelma Schreiner; an infant sister, Mary Alice Youngpeter; and an infant brother, Wilbur Youngpeter.
Evelyn was a 1945 graduate of McCutchenville High School. She worked at General Electric in Tiffin, Budd Company in Carey and was a greeter at Meijer in Findlay. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Findlay. Evelyn always smiled, loved to dance, help anyone in need, loved her family, her pets and her Cleveland Indians.
A masked walk through visitation for family and friends will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay respects, and exit without lingering.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2020, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay officiated by Msgr. Mike Hohenbrink. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin.
