EDWARD "TED" CARTER

d. July 16, 2010

On Friday July 16, 2010, at 1:37 am, Edward (Ted) Carter was finally reunited with the love of his life, Donna Jean Lee, who passed away on December 28, 2003. Ted received his wings after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family and friends in his last moments here on Earth.
Ted was born in Toledo, Ohio, to John Franklin Carter and Ida Minerva Shiley. He served 10 years in the United States Navy, was a retired truck driver and also a member of the Amvets, VFW, DAV, and the Eagles. He grew up with a large family; members included Fred Carter, Richard (Shelby) Carter, Robert (Sandy) Dryfuse, Juanita Roush, MaryLou Frontz, Ida (Bryce) Biller, Trudy (Don) Brown, and Katherine (Wilber) Miller.
Ted left behind his children who loved and will miss him dearly, Darleen Ward, John Carter Jr., Susan (Jim) Mizen, Ed Carter Jr., Tracy (Liz) Carter, and Troy (Angie) Carter. Ted also had 29 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren who where blessed to have called him Grandpa.
Everyone who knew Ted was blessed to have been able to linger in his light. He was a strong, caring, and outspoken man who easily melted in the presence of his family. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and softball with the guys, playing Euchre at the clubs, and dancing with his beautiful wife on Saturday nights.
Also awaiting Ted at the gates of Heaven were many family members who loved him: his parents, brothers Victor Dryfuse and Martin Carter, brothers-in-law Rev. Gene Roush and Howard Frontz, sisters-in-law Martha Carter and Peg Dryfuse, son-in-law Keith Ward, granddaughter Ashley Carter, grandson Daniel Aiello, and great grandsons Chanc' Mongeau, and Todd & Hunter Johnson.
