Edna "Mae" (Hamrick) Snyder Ellenwood, age 96, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully at 9:20 am Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in Lexington, Tenn. at her daughter's residence, surrounded by loved ones.

Mae was born November 12, 1916 in Tiffin to Joseph and Elizabeth (Johnson) Hamrick.  In 1936 she  married Robert A. Snyder, he died in 1959.  She later married Don Ellenwood in 1961, and he also preceded her in death.

Mae is survived by four sons, Jim (Kate) Snyder of Bowling Green, Tom (Jeanie) Snyder of Tiffin,  Chuck  Snyder of Bettsville, Dick (Robin) Snyder of Lexington, Tenn.; five daughters, Peg (Jim) Terry, of Lexington Tenn, Kathy (Bob) Free of Tiffin, Deb Dodson of Bettsville, Sally (Mark) Wagner, Kay (Adam) Schmucker both of Tiffin,  27 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, six great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Robert Charles Snyder; a son Bob Snyder; a son-in-law Denny Dodson; two grandsons Bobby Snyder and Denny Snyder; a great grandson Carson Free; one brother Lothar Hamrick; five sisters Bessie Ohliger, Pauline DeTray, Katherine Humphrey, Dorothy George and Madeline Scheiber.

Mae was a 1934 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and its Rosary Altar Society and Eagles Lodge #402 of Tiffin, she owned and managed the Snyder Hotel for years until she sold it in 1976. She was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed playing cards. Her favorite and most memorable times were spent with her large family.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 3:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, OH 44883, 419-447-3113.  A Wake service will be at 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Prayers will be said at 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The Rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
