Edith Kidd, age 90, of Hearth and Home, at Friedman Village, 175 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, Ohio died Monday, March 10, 2003 at her home.
She was born September 27, 1912 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Charles and Emma (Vessels) Mills. She married George Kidd, in Philadelphia, on June 5, 1937. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1985.
One of seven children, she is survived by a sister, Mildred, in Philadelphia. Also surviving are a son, George Kidd, Jr., a daughter-in-law, Diane, both of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; a daughter, Gail Dodge, a son-in-law, Lester U. both of Atlanta, Ga.; 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Edith, strong in her faith in God and Country, was a teacher of life to all who knew her. Always showing, by example, that there was a right way to live one's life. Through Christian faith, charity and love she influenced all who knew her.
Mrs. Kidd, a pioneer in computers, began working for the City of Philadelphia in 1952, later working for SKF Industries until her retirement in 1977. She became an avid golfer at the age of 50 and continued to play well into her 80's.
A member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Huntingdon Valley, Pa., Edith's funeral service will be held in the chapel on the church's campus. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Somerton, PA.
