Earl W. Reiter

Earl W. Reiter, 76, of Tiffin, died early Wednesday morning, August 19, 2026, at his sister’s home in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born November 30, 1949, in Tiffin to Walter and Agnes (Kummerer) Reiter.

Survivors include two brothers, Charles (Mary Alice) Reiter of Sandusky and Ken Reiter of Tiffin; three sisters, Theresa (Bob) Heim of Sandusky, Katherine Reiter of Phoenix, Arizona, and Linda (Jerry) Reiter-Kendall of Spokane, Washington. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews; and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nancy Reiter, and a nephew, Edward Reiter.

He grew up a farm boy in Republic, Ohio. He was a 1968 Calvert High School graduate, served in the United States Army from 1969 – 1971, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart when in Vietnam.

Earl retired from American Standard in 2004, after 38 years of employment. He was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS, VFW, and the DAV. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Visitation for family and friends will be 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113.

The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Tim Kummerer. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The United Veterans Council of Seneca County will perform military rites at the gravesite.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools or the United Veterans Council of Seneca County.
