Dorothy Ann “Peg” Fisher, age 82, of Tiffin, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025.
Born in Sandusky on October 25, 1942, to the late Marguerite (Buchman) Bryner and Alvin Bryner, Peg was the eldest of seven children. She grew up in Tiffin, where she made her home for most of her life.
She is survived by her son John Fisher and daughter-in-law Amy Fisher; daughters Diane Fisher and Rebecca Wagner; granddaughters Colette and Freya Wagner; and grandson Sam Fisher. Her brothers and sisters include Charles (Bev) Bryner and Mary (Ed) Sakos of Saratoga Springs, New York; Christine Smith of Oakland, California; Betty Ohler and Joseph Bryner of Tiffin; and Anita Bryner of Northwood. She is survived as well by treasured family members Chip Hess and Ellen Ewing, and her beloved dog, Sadie. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Richard Ohler.
Peg graduated from Calvert High School in 1960 and the Providence School of Nursing soon after. Nursing was more than a career—it was a calling. She cared deeply for her patients, especially during her years as an oncology and hospice nurse, and there are stories still told about her compassion and the care she gave. She retired from St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio, and later continued serving the community through her work at the Tiffin Developmental Center until earlier this year.
Known for her quiet strength and endless energy, Peg was affectionately called “The Energizer Bunny.” A longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, she believed in service, hard work, and doing what needed to be done with grace. She sewed beautiful clothing for her children, later creating quilts and gifts for patients, family, and friends. Everywhere she lived, she built a warm, cozy, and welcoming home filled with laughter and good food.
Peg found joy in life’s simple pleasures—listening to Willie Nelson, visiting Amish country, spending time with friends, volunteering at the Humane Society, and searching out the perfect thoughtful gifts for the people she cared about. She loved visits from her grandchildren and hosting holiday dinners that brought her family together. Peg will be remembered for her kindness, humor, unstoppable spirit, and deep care for others.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery, with honors provided by the Nurses Association of NW Ohio. The Rosary will be recited in church 30 minutes prior to Mass. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to The Humane Society of Seneca County.
