Donald R. Kimmet, 89, of Liberty Township, went to work on God’s farm Friday, July 29, 2011.
He was born April 14, 1922, in Kansas, Ohio to the late Clarence and Agnes (Haferd) Kimmet. He married Margaret M. Wise April 19, 1947 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin. She died February 19, 2008.
Survivors include eight children, Joan (Mac) McAuliffe of Bettsville, Joseph (Susan) Kimmet of Tiffin, Lois (Steve) Hollister of Manchester, Mich.; Danny (Roberta) Kimmet of Fremont, Frank (Theresa) Kimmet of Tiffin, Jerry Kimmet of Tiffin, Leonard (Elizabeth) Kimmet of Tiffin and Mike (Vicki) Kimmet of Tiffin; 18 grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and five step grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Kermit Brion and David Depp and a Daughter-in-Law, Mary Ann Kimmet.
Donald was a life long farmer and a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2011 at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. A wake service will be at 4 p.m. Visitation will also be from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, August 2 at the funeral home.
The funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Liberty Township, officiated by Rev. Timothy Kummerer. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass.
Burial will follow immediately in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to F.A.C.T. or to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
