Don was born June 8, 1932 in Tiffin to Roy and Susan (Smith) Huss. He married Kay F. Heising, September 27, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin and she survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include a son, John Huss of Tiffin; two daughters, Joan (Rob) Ledwedge, and Krista Huss both of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Andy and Jillian Ledwedge; and a sister, Sue Anne Kuhn of Tiffin, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Don was a 1950 graduate of Calvert High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Don retired in 1991 after 41 years as a machinist at National Machinery Company on test floor. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the National Machinery Quarter Century Club, and a board member of Northland Homes of Seneca County Opportunity Center.
Visitation will be 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, OH 44883, (419)447-3113, with a Wake service at 1:45 PM. The Quarter Century Club will gather at 4 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. (Please meet at the church) The Rosary will be said 20 minutes prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be private at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery with full military rites by the Veterans Council of Seneca County.
Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County Opportunity Center Parent Council or to a charity of the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.
