Dolores I. Dornan, age 96, of 182 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, died at 10:05 am Sunday, October 4, 2009, at St. Francis Home.
She was born April 30, 1913, in Seneca County, to the late Jacob and Mary (Borer) Rumschlag. On November 23, 1939, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, she married Clayton L. Dornan. He died December 21, 1978.
Survivors include a son, Terry Dornan; a daughter, Joan (Tom) Funkhouser of Toledo; eight grandchildren, Allan (Michelle) Funkhouser of Tiffin, Alicia (Alan) Distel of Findlay, Karen (Michael) Miller of Adrian, MI, Sheryl (Michael) Choo of Centerville, Keith (Jennifer) Funkhouser of Slyvania, Andrea (Brian) Foley of Toledo, Matthew Dornan of Perrysburg and Jesse (“Missy”) Dornan of Hamilton; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, another son, Danny L. Dornan, four brothers, seven sisters, and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dornan retired in 1978 as a Central Service Aide at Mercy Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, the Daughters of Isabella and she was a long time volunteer at St. Francis Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 6, from 4 to 8 pm, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113, with a Wake Service at 3:30 pm. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 am Wednesday, October 7, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 am, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Gary Walters will officiate, with burial immediately following in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in church 20 minutes prior to Mass.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Francis Home or to the Seneca County School of Opportunity.
