Dennis W. (Doc) Hyde, age 59, of Walker St., Tiffin, died at 1:30 pm Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio.
Dennis was born to the late Gerald and Audrey (Hoffman) Hyde on July 28, 1950 in Tiffin. He married Phyllis (Obringer) Hyde on June 7, 1975 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, and she survives in Tiffin.
He is survived by a daughter, Lynda Hyde of Tiffin; one brother, Scott (Jerilyn) Hippler of Franklin, Ky; three sisters, Diana Smith of Visalia, Calif., Darlene (John) Jenkins, of Ivanhoe, Calif., and Debra Curtis of Vacaville, Calif.
Dennis was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gerald W. Hyde, Jr.
Denny attended Columbian High School and was a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a mechanic at Scott’s BP Station and a Gun Specialist at Route 53 Recreation Center, Inc. Denny was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Izaak Walton League, and Bass Masters. Denny enjoyed spending time with family and being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved sharing stories with all.
Family and friends may call from 2-8 pm, Monday, December 14, 2009 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, 419-447-3113. A wake service will be held at 1:45 pm at the funeral home.
Prayers will be said at 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will be immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery. The United Veteran’s Council of Seneca County will conduct military rites at the cemetery.
