Dale Louis Gibbs, 79, of Republic, died at 7:00 p.m. on May 15, 2001 at Ruffing Family Care Center in Bloomville. He was born to Rex and Hattie (Schact) Gibbs on October 24, 1921. On June 4, 1946 he married Alice C. McGrath in Pomeroy, Ohio. She died on June 15, 1993.
Other survivors include, four sons, Raymond, Dale, Jr., David, and Thomas Gibbs; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Penny) Feucht, Alice Rhoads, and Mrs. John (Diana) Murray; two sisters, Irene Shaffer and Reva Lehman; many Grandchildren, and many Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded by one brother, Leroy Gibbs and one sister, Helen Drown.
Mr. Gibbs retired in 1983 from Green Bay Packaging Fremont, after 5 years as a truck driver. He had also driven truck for Fruit Belt Trucking, Clyde. He was a member of Moose Lodge 846, Eagles Aerie 402 (Tiffin) and A.A.R.P. He served his country during World War II in the US Army.
Burial will take place immediately following the funeral service at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde.
