Claude Thaxton, of Tiffin, Ohio, died January 10, 2001, at his residence. He was 84 years old.
He is survived by his second wife, Jane Mathias Alabaugh. His first wife, Edith Decker died in 1974. Also surviving is a son, Thomas Thaxton of Lexington, Ohio; a step-son, Orville Alabaugh of Tiffin, Ohio; 2 step-daughters, Linda Reinhart and Betsy Alabaugh both of Tiffin; 1 grandchild, 8 step-grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 1 step great grandchild, 1 brother, Charles Thaxton of Fostoria, Ohio and 1 sister, Velma McFarland of Cardington, Ohio. He is preceded by 3 brothers Wendell Thaxton, Ray Thaxton and Bill Burns.
Mr. Thaxton was a graduate from Jackson-Liberty High School in Amsden, Ohio. He had retired in 1982 after 30 years of service at Fleckner's Packing in Fostoria, Ohio. He was a member of the Fostoria V.F.W.
Contributions may be made to the Community Hospice Care of Tiffin, Ohio. Burial will take place at Aracadia Memory Gardens, Arcadia, Ohio.
