Clara was born September 22, 1922 to Ben and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Riepenhoff in Miller City, Ohio. She married Burkart J. Schroth at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Miller City, Ohio on August 23, 1947 and he passed away on January 11, 1989.
Survivors include four sons, Kenneth (Marie) Schroth, Anthony Schroth, Stanley (Rosemary) Schroth, Lawrence Schroth all of Tiffin; a daughter, Mary Schroth of Parma; six grandchildren, Amy, Steve, Mike, Kylee, Nate and Nick; four great grandchildren, Abigail, Shelbi, Hunter, and Claire; a brother, James Riepenhoff of Ottawa; four sisters, Eleanor Zwyer of Swanton, Ruth Smith of Tiffin, Lucille Shields of Bowling Green, Ky., and Rita Schmenk of Ottawa.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Clarence and Leonard Riepenhoff, two sisters, Norma Recker and Mary Nartker and a great granddaughter, Mikayla.
Clara was a homemaker, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, enjoyed gardening and she sang in the St. Joseph's women's choir.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec 7, 2014 at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113. A wake service will be at 3:30 p.m.
Prayer will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to St. Francis Home in care of the funeral home.
