Claire Rita Reamer, age 86, formerly of Melmore Street, died at 12:40 a.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
Claire Rita was born to the late Paul H. and Florence (Sonnhalter) Fox on August 3, 1923 in Tiffin, Ohio. She married Lee Reamer on October 25, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin and he died on November 3, 1987.
Claire Rita is survived by three sons, Jim (Diane) Reamer of Toledo, Mike (Kathy) Reamer, of New Riegel, and Terry Reamer of Alexandria, Va.; three daughters, Carol Reamer, OSU of Peru in South America, Pat (Tom) Walter and Beth Reamer both of Tiffin; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanne Letterhos of Catawba Island; and many nieces and nephews.
Claire Rita was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Jack and Dick Fox.
Claire Rita was a 1941 graduate of Calvert High School. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, the Josephine’s, the Daughters of the Isabella, Knights of Columbus Lady Knights, St. Francis Home Auxiliary, and the St. Ann’s Mother’s Club, she had been a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, and a Cub Scout Den mother, she also volunteered for the Ritz Theater, St. Francis Home and Mercy Hospital.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday May 2, 2010 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, 419-447-3113. There will be a wake service at 2:45 p.m.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will be immediately following in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools Tim Fox Scholarship Fund or to Toledo Ursuline Sisters.
