Carol Mavis Royer, 88, of Tiffin, died at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.
Carol was born February 23, 1930, in Waterville, Maine to Vernon L. and Mildred (Wheeler) Southard. She married Joseph Logan Royer, September 11, 1970, and he died in 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Craig H. (Dianne) McKenzie of Tiffin, Claude A. McKenzie of Tiffin; four daughters, Cindy (Dale) Garris of Waxahachie, Texas, Jodi Hoffman of Shelby, Tonya R. (Ray) Clair of Crestline, Michelle L. (Steven) Laser of Shelby; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and two sisters
Carol was a 1948 graduate of Milton LaForest Williams High School, Oakland, Maine. She was a homemaker and foster mother to over 145 children in her lifetime.
There will be no visitation or services at this time, the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, 419-447-3113, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Carol and her first husband, Claude McKenzie, Sr., helped to establish the Christie Lane School in Norwalk, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Christie Lane School, 306 S Norwalk Rd W, Norwalk, OH 44857.
