Betty was born June 2, 1923, in Republic to Forest and Ruth (Mowan) Cole. She married Joseph Bookmyer, Jr., June 9, 1945, in Toledo and he died September 2, 2009.
Survivors include a son, David Bookmyer of Dublin; two daughters, Janet Beard with whom she made her home and Patricia (Dave) Everhart both of Tiffin; three grandchildren, John Beard, Anjee (Bill) Beaston, Dawn (Bryan) Chapman; two step grandchildren, Tara (Ray) Sowa, Chad (Jessica) Everhart; eight great-grandchildren, Kelvin Hronek, Zac and Ava Chapman, Logan, Lexi and Kamryn Beaston, Carter, Corbin, and Charlie Everhart.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Reginald and Ronald Cole; a sister, Marjorie Glick, a granddaughter, Laura Hronek, a step-mother, Alice Cole; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Beard.
Betty was a 1942 Tiffin Columbian High School graduate, a homemaker, she retired from the Credit Bureau, was a member of the 42nd Club and the Allen Eiry Senior Center. She enjoyed harness racing, eating out, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contribution may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to Community Hospice Care in care of the funeral home.
