Barbara N. Somers, 64, of Tiffin, died at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2000 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. She was born in Tiffin to John Paul and Marjorie (Kuhn) Lutz on November 19, 1935. On February 11, 1956 she married James A. Somers at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Other survivors include 3 sons, Steven, Michael, and Kevin Somers; 4 daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Cynthia) Baugher, Mrs. Larry (Diane) August, Mrs. Tony (Susan) Distel, and Mrs. Jeff (Julie) Webel; 1 brother, John R. Lutz; 2 sisters, Mrs. Fred (Kathleen) Fabrizio and Mrs. Te (Marlene) Timmerman; and 18 Grandchildren.
She was preceded by 1 brother, Stephen Lutz.
She was a 1953 Calvert High School graduate and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Mrs. Somers was a lifelong homemaker and a member of the Calvert Touchdown Club.
The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the funeral Mass at the church and burial will take place in the parish cemetery immediately following the Mass.
