ALDEN BAKER

Alden Baker, age 74, of Tiffin, Ohio, died April 25, 2001. He was born March 1, 1927, in Republic, Ohio, to Joseph and Mary (Hansberger) Baker. On December 4, 1946, he married Blanche Lloyd, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Herbert and Rick; four daughters, Susan Feller, Kathy Elchert, Patty Kauffman, and Tracy Haughawout; one brother, Harold Baker; one sister, Gloria Kinn; and eleven grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and Burdette Baker. Mr. Baker owned and operated Alden Baker Trucking Company. He had also worked for Huber Trucking and Craun Trucking. He drove trucks for over 50 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Puget Sound. He was awarded the WWII Victory Ribbon, the American Area Ribbon, and the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon. He was a Life Member of the American Legion Post 169, Tiffin. Entombment will be in Seneca Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with military rites by the United Veterans Council. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent Medical Center Palliative Care Unit, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, or Tiffin Mercy Hospital Emergency Care Center.
