Paul E. Loesser, 91, of Tiffin, died peacefully in his sleep at 5:26 a.m. Sunday, May 14, 2023, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin. He was born October 9, 1931, in Carey, Ohio to John and Mary (Fredritz) Loesser. He married Lois Ann Welly April 23, 1953, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel. She died October 27, 2017.
Survivors include a son, Chad (Margaret) Loesser of Tiffin; three daughters, Bev (Greg) Herig of Maumee, Shel Loesser of Tiffin, Sandi (Robert) Gambescia of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Margaret Elchert of Marysville, Dave (Anna) Loesser of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Tom (Rita) Loesser of Port Clinton, and Bill (Chris) Loesser of Charlotte, North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, sister, Ann Kummerer, three brothers, Art, Ed and Jim Loesser, and a granddaughter, Tiffanie Loesser.
Paul was a 1949 graduate of Calvert High School and served in the United States Navy. He retired from National Machinery after 40 years as a Welder and Foreman. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club, Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He enjoyed golf, cards, Bingo and traveling.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2023, at the funeral home followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Scott Kramer. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
