David M. Thompson, 75, of Tiffin, died at 4:08 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Wyandot Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center, Upper Sandusky.
He was born March 12, 1948, in Fostoria to Norman and Dorothy (Lobdell) Thompson.
He is survived by his son, Jason (Ginger) Thompson of Pataskala; former wife and companion, Jean (Scherger) Thompson of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Maxwell Thompson, and Alexis Thompson; and a sister, Norma Fox of Fostoria.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Brian Thompson.
David was a 1967 St. Wendelin Catholic High School graduate, a member of the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971, and a 1980 graduate of Tiffin University. He retired in 2010 after 38 years at Webster Manufacturing. David was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Bascom, served on the Hopewell-Loudon School Board from 1992-2000, was Past Governor of the Moose Lodge 846 in Tiffin, and a member of Tiffin Eagles Aerie 402. He was an avid Cleveland and Ohio State sports fan.
He enjoyed his grandson, his cat Felix, and loved traveling to Las Vegas and to Hollywood Casino, Toledo.
Visitation for friends and family will be 4-6 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
The memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. conducted by the United Veteran’s Council of Seneca County.
