Stephen C. Hess

Stephen C. Hess, 69, of Tiffin, died at 2:30 pm Saturday, December 1, 2018, at St. Catherine's Manor, Findlay.

Stephen was born April 20, 1949, in Tiffin to Aubrey R. and Mary Eliz. (Yost) Hess, Sr.

Survivors include two brothers, Aubrey (Pauline) Hess, Jr. of Bloomville, J. Kenneth (Elaine) Hess of Bellevue; two sisters, Helen R. Bentz of Findlay, Jean Marie (Lonnie) Mendoza of Gibsonburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Mary Ellen Hess.

Stephen was a 1968 graduate of Calvert Catholic High School, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir. He also sang in a folk group, was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and worked at Magers Lumber Company.  He also held a variety of jobs, the most recent being at Mercy Health Tiffin Hospital.  He was also an accomplished carpenter, knew how to figure things out, and enjoyed Indian motorcycles as a hobby.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, December 14, 2018, from 9 to 10:30 am, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio  44883, (419)447-3113.

Prayers will be said at 10:30 am Friday, at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 11 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  The Rosary will be recited in church 20 minutes prior to Mass. Rev. Joseph Szybka will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contribution may be made to St. Catherine's Manor, Findlay, St. Joseph Church Organ Fund, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
