Luigi “Lou” Dantuono, 85, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 11, 2017.

Lou was born in Seneca County, Ohio to Luciano and Anna Maria Dantuono.

Lou is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Ruth, his children Mark, Lisa (Richard), Linda (John); three grandchildren, Rachael, Matthew and Nora; his nieces and nephews, Jaqueline (Michael), Dennis (Sandy), Barb, Douglas (Marilyn), Michelle and Anthony (Lynn), Kevin, Bryan (Ardis), and Amy (Ron); and his brother-in-law, Robert.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Luciano and Anna Maria; his brother and sisters-in-law, Anthony, Evelyn, and Eunice; and his niece, Constance.

Lou was a 1949 graduate of Bettsville High School; he was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, a lifelong resident of Seneca County, parishioner of St. Mary's and a farmer at heart.  He retired after 34 years at RCA as a Process Technician.  He was not defined by what he did but by whom he loved; above all else, Lou cherished his family. They forever will treasure the memories of the many road trips as much as the memories of times together around the house.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory  214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113. A Wake service will be at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The United Veteran’s Council of Seneca County will perform military services at 7:45 p.m.

Prayers will be said at  9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the funeral home with the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery at a later date.  The Rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the service at the church.
