Kathleen Genevieve (Saum) Smith

Kathleen Genevieve Smith, 83, of Tiffin, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 9:45 p.m. at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

Kathleen was born June 7, 1934, in Bettsville to Melvin and Alta (Hammer) Saum. She married Royal Dean Smith on April 24, 1954, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Liberty, and he survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include a son, Dean (Suzy) Smith of Tiffin; a daughter, Deborah (Jackie) Cooper of Sanford, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Melissa Posey, Kaitlyn Smith, Aaron Post; four great-grandchildren, Quinton Posey, Ethan Posey, Elaina Post and Leo Post; a brother, Kenneth Saum of McCutchenville; and four sisters, Mary Ann Ley of Fostoria, Connie (Don) Bouillon of Fostoria, Anna Lou (Tom) Gosche of Carey and Bernita Saum of Bettsville.

She was preceded in death her parents, and a brother, Berneal Saum.

Kathleen was a 1952 graduate of Jackson-Liberty High School. She was a homemaker and farm wife, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Tiffin T-Squares.

There will be no visitation.

A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017, at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort with Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113 is assisting the family with the arrangements.
