Cherie B. Ponce, 88, of Woodstock, Ohio, formerly of Tiffin, died at 7:37 pm Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Spring Meadow Care Center, Woodstock.
She was born on August 26, 1928, in Tiffin to Lewis and Verdene (Martin) Staib.
Survivors include her son, David (Teresa) Ponce of Newport News, Virginia, and three grandchildren, Jessica, Patrick and Christopher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jack R. and Jan L. Staib, and her sister, Mary Jo Murphy.
Cherie graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School and worked several jobs in her travels throughout the country. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Moose Lodge, where she enjoyed the many friends and the good times she had there. Cherie enjoyed traveling, attending car races, and playing checkers and cards with her grandchildren.
A sharing of memories and a reflection of life will be from 11 am to noon Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113.
