Irene Marie (Grafe) Coffman

Irene Marie Coffman, 94, of Tiffin, died at 6:07 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at her residence.

Irene was born Nov. 5, 1921 in Akron to Robert and Addie (Welch) Grafe.  She married George S. Jinks in 1940, and they later divorced.  Irene then married George F. Coffman Oct. 25, 1947 in Delphos, and he died Sept. of 1970. Irene had a brother Raymond and a sister Margaret.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Bland of Tiffin; a son-in-law, Tom Bacome of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Cheryl, Geo, Tommy, Traci, Shannon, and Troy; ten great-grandchildren, Keilee, Shailee, Emily, Landon, Connor, Kelsi, Dakota, Garret, Jacob, and Nikki; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a daughter, Anna May (Jinks) Bacome; and a son, Ben Jinks.

Irene was a 1940 graduate of Carey High School. She had worked at General Electric, and retired from Sears and Roebuck in 1986.  She was active in the Girl Scouts for many years. She bowled, played golf, and enjoyed playing cards with her family.

There will be no visitation per Irene’s request.

Burial has taken place in Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin.

A Memorial Celebration will be at 1:00 to 4:00 PM, Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Tiffin VFW Post 2858 of Tiffin.
